Victoria Arduino Venus Family

A coffee machine that tells the history of espresso!

If, like us, the first thing you think of when you wake up is making a cup of good coffee and the second, a good cigar, this is an interesting article you have to read.

Coffee and cigars are by far one of the most successful and appreciated combinations by aficionados of all levels of experience. The aromas of both compliment and ultimately enrich each other, cigars and coffee together offer a fantastically balanced and unique combination of flavours.

It is in this spirit that we have decided, in partnership with a roaster from the Geneva area, to develop our own coffee: Grauer Coffee. You will find all the information at the end of this article.

Any coffee lover will tell you: there is no point in having a good coffee without a good machine to develop its aromas. This is why we have chosen to present a coffee machine that tells the story of espresso: the Victoria Arduino Venus Family!

The Victoria Arduino brand originated at the beginning of the 20th century in a period of great cultural, social and industrial transformation, the foundations of which were to break with tradition and value progress.

Pier Teresio Arduino, who earned his living as a clerk, entered into this wonderful project by taking advantage of the recent distribution of electricity in the cities – allowing him to create and develop his first espresso machine in 1905, which he named Victoria. He then became the founder of Victoria Arduino. His idea was to produce a domestic coffee machine to offer his customers the possibility of making their own coffee, the quality of which was comparable to that served in cafés.

The machine we are interested in today, the Venus Family, is a semi-professional coffee machine that benefits from this long technical and stylistic heritage. First produced in the late 1960s in Victoria Arduino's laboratories in Casorate Sempione, Italy, the Venus Family is designed in the style of an espresso machine of the time period. Although its dimensions are much more suitable for domestic use, its design is largely inspired by the Venus Bar, the brand's historic and now iconic model. It is widely recognised as simply one of, if not, THE MOST elegant home espresso machine.

It is probably no coincidence that it was named "Venus", the goddess of love and beauty. A set of divine elements borrowed from the Greek goddess that qualify this particular coffee machine.

It takes eleven craftsmen and technicians, along with more than 76 hours of labour, to produce one Venus Family machine. The use of machine tools is limited to the essentials: everything else relies on the experience and knowledge of craftsmen; The Venus Family is the result of immense manual expertise.

For example, the "bodywork", made entirely of copper, is worked by hand using a technique that originated with the old copper beaters. Each Venus Family has its own facets emanating from the hand of the craftsman who patiently hammered them. Finally, each of these espresso machines is unique. These precious surfaces for the appearance of the machine are specifically treated to avoid any marks or scratches that could then compromise this stylistic perfection. The result is sparkling reflections that change with the angle of the light, making the Venus Family a dynamic work of art.

The beauty of this "Venus" also lies in its measurements, inspired by the famous "golden rule". Also known as "divine proportion", it has been used since Antiquity and corresponds to the search for the ideal ratio observed in nature in order to obtain perfectly balanced, almost divine proportions!

Finally, the dome of the Venus Family is topped by Victoria Arduino's emblematic eagle with open wings.

More than just a work of art, the Venus Family also makes wonderful espressos and has a steam nozzle for making exquisite cappuccinos and lattes. It offers the possibility to adjust the water temperature in the boiler. This allows you to calibrate the ideal dispensing temperature, depending on the type of coffee bean.

Making a coffee is extremely simple, just press a button. Depending on your needs, the filters can be used for single or double doses of coffee. In addition, the capacity of the tank allows for many cups of coffee to be served before needing to be refilled.

Steam is generated by simply turning the steam handle knob, while the flexible jet also makes it possible to make excellent cappuccinos.

When you buy a Victoria Arduino coffee machine, you can be sure that its system will meet your needs, without fail and in a durable manner. Indeed, Victoria Arduino makes it a point of honour to select materials and components of the highest quality.

Before leaving the factory, each Venus Family is subjected to numerous operating cycles in order to check its perfect performance. This completes the long hours of work that go into making a Victoria Arduino coffee machine. Thanks to all this work, expertise and knowledge, the brand has become synonymous with reliability and elegance.
