Fallon Cuir Nixes
The pocket cigar case by Patrick Fallon.
Patrick Fallon's passion for cigars began with a gift from Serge Amoruso, an exceptional Parisian leatherworker and long-time friend, who gave him his first cigar case, made of rosewood and beavertail. Patrick Fallon found the object so beautiful that it inspired him to buy his first cigars just to fill up his case. He was immediately fascinated by the world of cigars. He saw an exceptional piece of craftsmanship that perfectly corresponded to his culture of high-end leather goods.
Indeed, Patrick Fallon, after obtaining his diploma as a leatherworker, joined the prestigious Maison Hermès in 1981. Thus, he learned the renowned know-how of this exceptional brand while strengthening his appetite for high-quality leather goods. Three years later, in 1984, he decided to create his atelier in Annecy, where he would manufacture his own creations.
Falloncuir is now a leather goods manufacturer based on the state-of-the-art know-how and exclusively French production. Patrick Fallon is a member of the Grands Ateliers de France, an association of workshops that share common values, such as the culture of excellence, attention to detail and the transmission of know-how.
It was by combining his know-how as a saddlery maker with his passion for cigars that Patrick Fallon had the idea of creating the first pocket cigar humidor able of preserving cigars for up to seven days in perfect conditions. In fact, Patrick likes to say: "I couldn't find the ideal cigar case, so I created it".
These pocket cigar humidors are telescopic in order to accommodate to perfection, different modules, from Robusto to Gran Corona in terms of length and Sublimes in terms of diameter. Their perfect design allows, as we said before, to keep your precious cigars in perfect hygrometric conditions for up to 7 days, even in extreme environments such as desert, jungle, snow and cold, without any humidification system inside the cigar case.
As a true adventure enthusiast, Patrick Fallon himself has taken his cigar cases on safaris, into the Amazon rainforests, buried them under snow inside the Arctic Circle with temperature and humidity measuring devices. Extreme conditions, in all four corners of the globe. He describes himself as a "Gentleman Adventurer", a character born during his adventurous excursions, while testing the effectiveness of his cases.
As you can see, Falloncuir cigar cases will accompany you on all your trips, even the most extreme ones. Finely sheathed, they are real jewels of saddlery and leather goods made from the noblest and finest leathers: Alligator, Crocodile, Python, Buffalo, Stingray, Ostrich, Ostrich leg, Buffalo toad or even Orylag. Skins from farms that respect the Washington Convention.
By choosing the model, the material and the colour, there are more than 600 variations available.
With a capacity of 1 to 5 cigars, each of the cigar cases is handmade in Falloncuir's workshops, near Annecy, France.
Among them, we find the Nixes model. Named after three female divinities from Greek mythology, Nixes is an absolute best-seller of the brand allowing you to carry 3 cigars. Today, we present you with 3 variations.
The first one, a classic, is made of buffalo leather. Its particularity lies in the association of colours between the two parts of the case. Two very deep reds, a few shades apart, which together form a harmonious blend.
The second one is for the most rebellious among you. A must-have piece of the "Vamos Bien" collection. This Nixes is identifiable by its original design, representing a flat and a curved side. The flat side makes it look sleek and adds a touch of creative personalization. The curved side has been kept to prevent your cigars from colliding and getting damaged.
Representing the living history of Cuba through the different propaganda posters of the Castro regime, this collection was created from photos taken by Patrick Fallon during his trips to Cuba. The history of the cigar is inseparable from this very special land that is Cuba. Thus, the decoration transcribed is a piece of history of the island of Cuba and the story it tells about the production of their cigars. A photographic print accompanies each of the cigar case in this collection.
And finally, the last one in this range, which is probably less political, has a beautiful checkerboard pattern. Without appearing to be so, it is the most complex case in terms of craftmanship. Rather than simply stamping the pattern into the hide, Fallon's know how hand weaved separate strips of white and red leather into the tightly packed checkerboard pattern.
Regardless the outer finish, buffalo leather is used to line the interior. Such is the precision of the workmanship that the pocket humidor creates a virtual airlock when closed. Only those who have tried it will recognise the dry sound, made once the upper and lower parts of the case are separated.
The result is outstanding and will far exceed the advertised minimum of 5-7 days of storing your cigars. Although the skins are rare and valuable, they are treated to withstand any extreme situation, from polar cold to equatorial sun.
A Fallon cigar case is a real jewel case, a gem of leather goods. When you acquire one, you become the privileged owner of the expression of a rare know-how, a history and a part of Patrick Fallon's artisan-adventurer soul, such is the privilege.
