Although the main function of the tray is to transport your cigars safely, its appearance is also important.
That's why their design and conception are the result of a close collaboration with Christos Karnabakos, a Greek artist, cigar lover and true wood enthusiast. From the visual aspect to the technical characteristics and the materials used, all aspects of these cigar trays have been carefully thought out. After this design phase, many hours of work were necessary to give them life.
Christos Karnabakos is a specialist in the design of custom-made humidors and combines the knowledge he has gained from over 24 years of experience with the needs of his customers. As a cigar lover himself, Christos Karnabakos knows only too well how to create accessories that preserve and enhance cigars.
Let's start with the visual aspect. The choice of wood is in line with the codes of The House of Grauer. A marvellous and very rare wood from South-East Asia, Macassar Ebony or Diospyros Celebica by its botanical name, has long been considered one of the most precious woods. Trees growing in isolation rather than in groups make harvesting logistically difficult. In addition, the slow growth of Macassar Ebony, ranging from 60 to 200 years, considerably limits the marketable supply of the wood.
Beyond its precious character, which happened to seduce the Egyptian pharaohs in their time, Macassar Ebony offers a unique aesthetic aspect. Shaded from black to coppery brown, its veining highlights the leather insert, made from the same leather as our centre table, bringing an elegant and lush finish to this singular tray.
The generous edges ensure that your vitolas are perfectly safe when the tray is tilted.
Finally, the Grauer logo is discreetly hot embossed to show the attention you want.
