The story of Fuente Fuente OpusX cigar The Lost City is so improbable, that it seems to be the masterpiece of a Hollywood scriptwriter. In reality, that's exactly what it is: in 2004, Andy Garcia began shooting "The Lost City", whose most memorable scenes took place at the famous Château de la Fuente in the Dominican Republic.

Andy Garcia is a Cuban actor, director and musician who has struggled for nearly two decades to bring to the screen his perception of his country, Cuba, during the violent transition from the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista to the beginning of Fidel Castro's one. He will play the role of Fico Fellove, the owner of a club facing intense pressure from politicians who are tearing his country apart.

For the most dramatic scene of the film, in which Fico's brother, now a high ranking official of the Castro regime, tells his uncle Donoso that his tobacco plantation will be confiscated, Andy wanted to recreate the environment of a Cuban tobacco farm. He will then receive the precious help of the mythical cigar manufacturer Arturo Fuente, headed by Carlito Fuente.

Initially, the Château de la Fuente, described as the most beautiful tobacco farm in the world, was only to be used for general shots. At the time of the shooting, in July 2004, no tobacco plants were growing there, as they are usually harvested in March. Carlito Fuente will thus show an extraordinary generosity, by planting a few hectares of tobacco so that Garcia can have a field of plants of one meter high for the shooting next June.

This crop, which was originally intended as a background for the film The Lost City, will, almost by accident, give birth to one of the rarest cigars in the world: the Fuente Fuente OpusX The Lost City (FFOX The Lost City).

After the film was finished, Andy suggested to Carlito that, if the summer harvest was good, he could use it to make a new cigar with the Lost City logo, with the profits going to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation, co-founded by Carlito Fuente and Eric Newman.

After 5 years of aging, the tobacco turned out to be splendid, with a leaf that has all the criteria required to be part of the famous and complex OpusX range. However, it emanates sophisticated flavors and a character all its own.

Nearly 10 years later, during the commemoration of the film The Lost City, the Lost City Scholarship Fund for Cigar Family Charitable Foundation was founded by Prometheus and God of Fire. Funds from this charity will provide college scholarships to students who graduate from the high school created by the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation.

Now let's take a look at this exceptional cigar. Adorned with a main band bearing the Arturo Fuente emblem and a second custom band stamped "Lost City" in black, red and gold, the blend comes in 6 different vitolas: The Lost City Robusto (50 x 132 mm), Double Robusto (52 x 145 mm), Double Robusto Tubo (52 x 145 mm), Toro (48 x 170 mm), Piramide (52 x 153 mm) and finally, Lancero (38 x 190 mm).

This entirely Dominican puro is produced in extremely limited quantities of 500 boxes of 10 units per year. Its strength evolves from medium to strong and its dark brown wrapper gives off strong chocolate notes. When lit, it produces a generous and creamy smoke completed by an intense aroma of cedar. Its earthiness is balanced by notes of caramel and almonds. This absolutely rare cigar worthy of the OpusX name is an object of desire for all aficionados.
