Bock Renacimiento 25 Anos
From Cuban roots to Dominican perfection.
In 1999, the Bock y Ca. brand re-emerged onto the global cigar stage, thanks to Heinrich Villiger, who revitalized this historic name. Transitioning from its Cuban roots to the Dominican Republic, Bock y Ca. has upheld a legacy of craftsmanship that continues to define its cigars today. Now, 25 years later, the brand marks this milestone with a remarkable anniversary edition—the Bock Renacimiento 25 Anos—a tribute to its storied past and enduring excellence.
The history of Bock cigars dates back to 1888 when the brand was first mentioned. Its founder, Gustav Bock Müller (1837–1910), known as "Don Gustavo", was a pioneering German entrepreneur who immigrated to Cuba. Recognized as the first non-Spanish European to manufacture cigars in Cuba, he established the renowned "El Águila de Oro" factory in Havana in 1865. This marked the birth of the first Bock y Ca. cigars, proudly bearing the name of their visionary creator.
Beyond his role as a cigar manufacturer, Bock was also an innovator. He is credited with the invention of the cigar band—a concept born in 1880 to prevent the high society from staining their white gloves while smoking. This small yet revolutionary detail became an iconic element in the cigar world, ensuring authenticity and countering the rise of counterfeit cigars.
Following Bock’s passing in 1910, the brand faded into obscurity until Heinrich Villiger rediscovered and revived it in 1999. Since then, Villiger has nurtured the brand, maintaining its Dominican Republic production and enhancing its prestige while preserving its traditional essence.
To commemorate its 25th anniversary, Bock y Ca. introduces the Bock Renascimiento 25 Anos—a limited edition cigar that fully embraces the significance of the number 25. Rolled in the Toro Gordo size, these cigars are a testament to the meticulous artistry that defines Bock y Ca. From the moment the box is opened, aficionados are greeted with a rich, aromatic bouquet reminiscent of the Caribbean, setting the stage for an unforgettable smoking experience. The cigars are presented in a box inspired by Cuban tradition, where they rest without cellophane, enveloped in cedar wood—a refined detail that elevates the experience and pays homage to the brand’s heritage.
Each Bock Renacimiento 25 Anos cigar is adorned with the golden eagle (El Águila de Oro)—a powerful emblem that has graced the company’s logo since 1865. This striking design reinforces the brand’s deep historical roots and enduring commitment to excellence.
Bock cigars have long been known for their smooth, approachable profile, making them a favorite among both seasoned aficionados and those new to the world of cigars. The Bock Renacimiento 25 Anos stays true to this tradition, offering a well-balanced, refined smoking experience that reflects the expertise of its Dominican craftsmanship. With notes of spice, creaminess, and a delicate earthiness, this blend is a harmonious tribute to the brand’s legacy.
For collectors and cigar enthusiasts alike, the Bock Renacimiento 25 Anos is more than just a cigar—it is a piece of history. This anniversary edition stands as a tribute to Gustav Bock Müller’s pioneering spirit, the craftsmanship of generations, and the resilience of a brand that has stood the test of time.
Now available at House of Grauer, the Bock Renacimiento 25 Anos invites aficionados to partake in a journey through history, tradition, and celebration—one luxurious puff at a time.
