Bolívar Regentes Edición Limitada 2021
A special size for the brand’s new limited edition.
Bolívar, a renowned Cuban brand founded in 1902 by José F. Rocha, has always been synonymous with powerful and full-flavored profiles. Named in honor of Simón Bolívar, the iconic leader of South American independence, the brand has continued to captivate cigar enthusiasts with its robust offerings. In keeping with this legacy, Bolívar has introduced a new limited edition cigar, the Bolívar Regentes, released early in 2024.
The Bolívar Regentes was unveiled during a world premiere event organized by Habanos S.A. and U.K. Habanos distributor Hunters & Frankau in January 2024. This cigar, with its vitola of Discretos, measures 130 mm in length and has a ring gauge of 52. It is presented in luxurious, darkly painted slide-lid boxes, each containing 25 hand-rolled cigars. This size has previously been used only once in Habanos history, for the Partagás Maduro No.1.
As a part of the Edición Limitada series, the Bolívar Regentes exemplifies the program's dedication to unique sizes and darker-than-usual wrappers. Launched annually since 2000, these limited-edition Cuban cigars utilize tobacco from the esteemed Vuelta Abajo region in Pinar del Río, aged for a minimum of two years. Each cigar is adorned with a secondary band that reads “Edición Limitada,” along with the year of its release, highlighting its exclusivity.
The blend of the Bolívar Regentes is a Cuban puro, using wrapper, binder, and filler from the Vuelta Abajo region. This particular blend offers a rich and oily wrapper, enhancing the overall experience. When lighted, it delivers notes of musty cedar, hickory wood, instant coffee, and cereal, providing a complex and satisfying palate.
