CB Cigars 33 Pyramids Jar

The CB Cigars brand was created in 2020 thanks to the impulse of an aficionado so passionate that he wanted to realise his dream: to create his own brand of cigar. This man, Cédric Borboën, is a "Serial Entrepreneur" whose professional career is rich and progressive. Between his professional activities, his hockey games and his golf games, Cédric indulges in another of his great passions: cigars. He is one of the most loyal House of Grauer's Residents.

Passionate about people, he likes to bring together individuals who share common interests. So why not bring them together around a cigar?

The CB Cigars project is itself the result of a meeting. Indeed, Cédric, as a good cigar lover, crossed paths with Palmolino Esposito, with whom he shares a deep friendship. The latter is none other than one of the creators of the Don Capa cigar brand. Thus, one has the desire and the passion, the other has the know-how. The result: the 33 Pyramids cigar.

This first cigar from Cedric inherits more than 120 years of experience in the creation and production of cigars from the Tabacalera Don Capa Factory, based in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. The Santo Domingo area is known for its exceptional quality in tobacco growing.

Don Capa's philosophy is to produce a superior quality cigar from rigorously selected tobaccos, aged from 4 to 13 years and having undergone triple or even quadruple fermentation. In order to guarantee maximum quality for each cigar, the entire manufacturing process takes place under the watchful eye of the supervisors who control the Maestros Torcedores, who themselves come from the best factories on the island.

After being rolled, the cigars spend another 6 months in the maturing cellar, a room with controlled temperature and humidity. In this way, during tasting, ammonia will not alter the aromas and flavours. The particularity of Don Capa is to voluntarily limit its production to 700'000 cigars per year. This is in order to ensure consistency in quality. CB Cigars are part of this philosophy of aged tobacco and controlled production.

The presentation is flattering: each 33 Pyramids is individually wrapped in cellophane, 100% biodegradable. Through the transparency, we can see a beautiful maduro wrapper (Habana 2000 Ecuador), dressed in an orange band marked with the name of its creator: Cédric Borboën. An unconditional fanatic of the colour orange, it was only natural that Cédric chose it to dress his cigars.

As soon as it is lit, a beautiful smoke is released. The good draw makes us enjoy a first part offering a mix of spices and vegetal flavours. A rather lively start with a slight spiciness.

The rest of the tasting is rather linear, always on the same vegetal palette. Note the appearance of subtle notes of beans, almonds, coffee, all wrapped in a nice creamy drape.

The end becomes woody and even spicy. The finish is rhythmic and very coherent! A really pleasant tasting, gourmet at times, lasting almost an hour and a half!
