Davidoff's iconic "White Band" collection, consisting of Davidoff Signature, Aniversario, Grand Cru and Millennium, has been given a new limited edition. Called "Davidoff Master Selection 2012", it was created to celebrate the new anniversary of this iconic collection. To do so, Davidoff brought together its top experts from its Master Blending Competence Centre to pool their experience and know-how to create a unique and special cigar.
For two decades, the qualified experts who make up the Master Blending Competence Centre have been creating cigars for themselves. The Davidoff Master Selection 2012 is one of them. With their permission, Davidoff has decided to release a limited quantity of these exclusive, very personal and rare cigars, whose blends were created in 2012. The cigars were rolled two years ago and have been aging under careful supervision ever since.
The beautiful sunshine of the Dominican summer, which allowed the tobacco to grow, served as the inspiration for this blend. The Yamasá Visus filler tobaccos have been aged in Bourbon barrels, which add an extra sweetness to the notes of roasted almonds, café au lait and oak wood. This rare cigar stimulates the senses and fills the time wonderfully with a medium intensity and a very special touch.
The vitola chosen by Davidoff for this new exclusive edition is the Toro (52 x 152 mm), a vitola with generous dimensions, allowing a little more time for tasting. The whole is carefully rolled in an Ecuadorian wrapper, making this blend of great intensity and balance.
Indeed, the Davidoff Master Selection Edition 2012 offers a captivating taste experience, stimulating the senses with its medium intensity and singular flavours. From the very first whiffs, the greediness of toasted almonds, salt and spices calls out to you; a flavour that in fact hides a great sweetness, combining the smoothness of a coffee-cream with the tender aromas of vanilla and leather. The last third brings us back to more down-to-earth notes: hazelnuts, oak.
The production of this Toro is limited to only 7'000 boxes of 10 units worldwide. The cigars are dressed with a double band, the first is the classic "White Band" and the second is stamped with the signature of the expert who rolled the cigar. The whole is presented in a very sober box, as if it had just come from the factory. On each box, a numbered label indicating the date of creation of the blend and the signature of one of the experts has been affixed.
