Don Capa Cigars

Behind the Don Capa cigar brand there are two men, two friends. Both gentlemen are cigar lovers, and together they decided to embark on the adventure of buying an old factory in 2015 to create their own cigar production. The factory is located in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic and is now called Tabacalera Don Capa Factory.

After a thorough cleaning and installation, the two men brought this sleeping beauty back to life. Surrounding themselves with three local professionals, together, have more than 120 years of experience in cigarcreation and production, in order to create high quality cigars.

In order to obtain the desired quality, Don Capa only produces its cigars from rigorously selected tobacco leaves, aged between 4 and 13 years, which have undergone triple or even quadruple fermentation. The supply is made through producers in some of the most fertile regions of the Dominican Republic. The terroir of Santo Domingo is known for its exceptional quality in tobacco growing.

Always with this concern for in mind - to ensure maximum quality, the Torcédor Masters supervise the entire manufacturing process for each of the cigars. In fact, Don Capa's production does not exceed 500,000 cigars per year, in order to guarantee the constant production of high quality cigars.

After being rolled, the cigars are left to rest for another 6 months in a maturing cellar, where the temperature and hygrometry are controlled. This last stage brings out the delicate aromas but also harmonises them.

Once all this long and meticulous manufacturing process has been completed, the cigars are packaged in cellophane. The latter, equipped with a hologram guaranteeing the authenticity of the cigars, allows an excellent conservation of the aromas and flavours while waiting for them to coat your palate.

The different vitolas:

Don Capa - Afterwork: Dressed in a magnificent Habana 2000 wrapper, the Afterwork is the aperitif cigar par excellence. A thirty-minute tasting offering powerful aromas of roasted cocoa beans sublimated by a captivating perfume of cedar wood.

Don Capa - Original - No.1: A Toro of character that offers first of all flavours of roasted hazelnuts. It then evolves towards a rather honeyed register that gently gives way to more woody notes, evolving towards the aroma of leather. Finally, the last third offers a remarkable rise in power. A virile and full-bodied cigar while remaining subtle and refined.

Don Capa - Premium - No.1: Made with top-quality Dominican tobaccos and wrapped in a San Andres wrapper, it offers complex aromas that develop gradually. The aromatic bouquet emphasizes woody and roasted aromas. It will seduce lovers of rich and powerful cigars.

Don Capa - Premium - No.6: Undoubtedly the jewel of Don Capa. Witnessing exemplary construction and dressed in a beautiful San Andres Maduro wrapper, this Perfecto offers woody and roasted notes evolving towards leather and chocolate. Composed of some of the strongest Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos used in cigar construction, this No.6 displays a strong personality, whose strength is very present but nevertheless charming.
