Founded by Eduardo León Jimenes in 1903, La Aurora is today one of the oldest manufacturers of premium cigars in the Dominican Republic and one of the largest growers of Dominican tobacco.
Today, the company has decided to showcase all of its tobacco growing and rolling expertise through a new limited edition of its Puro Vintage line: La Aurora Puro Vintage 2008 Limited Edition. Marketed in extremely limited quantities, each new vintage of this small production uses the best tobaccos from a given harvest year. The latest, the 2008, is made from vintage tobaccos harvested in 2008.
True to the values instilled by founder Eduardo León Jimenes, based on impeccable construction and attention to the smallest details, these Puros Vintage 2008 are crafted like real gems. This rare cigar, in the Salomon format (60 x 165 mm), is composed of Dominican tobaccos (Valle del Cibao) for the wrapper, Ecuadorian tobaccos for the binder, and tobaccos from Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua for the filler.
The advantage of this module, apart from the fact that its complex construction puts it at the top of the art of cigar rolling, lies in the fact that the aficionado himself decides where he cuts the head of the cigar. The foot of the cigar is also pointed, making it easier to light.
Originally launched in 2008, the La Aurora Puro Vintage line is characterised by cigars made from tobacco from a single harvest year. The first cigar to receive this prestigious designation contained tobacco from 2003, but now, in 2022, this new Puro Vintage comes full circle by using tobacco from the year of launch.
With Puro Vintage, La Aurora wishes to demonstrate its aspiration and expertise in creating exceptional, long-aged cigars: long-aged tobaccos, passing through the expert hands of the House's master rollers to give birth to exceptional Puros.
The packaging has also received special treatment. Indeed, each of the 6,000 boxes produced for the whole world, 300 of which are for Switzerland only, is covered with a matt black lacquer offering a luxurious presentation and revealing 8 cigars arranged in a fan-shaped pattern.
Like each vintage, La Aurora Puro Vintage 2008 is a testimony to the skills of Manual Inoa, the Master Blender.
