The Meerapfel family has been deeply rooted in the world of cigars for centuries, with their history tracing back to the 1600s. As distinguished tobacco producers, they specialized in cultivating the rare and highly prized Cameroon wrapper, known for its exceptional flavor and scarcity. In 1876, the family expanded their expertise by producing their own hand-rolled cigars in Germany, a tradition that endured for 150 years until it was abruptly halted by World War II. However, the Meerapfel family’s dedication to cigars persisted, as they later built an international distribution network under the Meerapfel name.
The Meerapfel Création Liberté embodies the pinnacle of cigar-making artistry. Rooted in centuries of tradition, this exceptional cigar reflects a meticulous selection of the finest tobaccos. It is enveloped in a vintage Cameroon wrapper, often referred to as the “sacred leaf,” renowned for its rich hue and refined texture. This exquisite wrapper pays homage to Cameroon’s fertile lands and embodies the dedication required to cultivate such a rare tobacco leaf.
The cigar’s construction is meticulously designed to achieve perfect balance and complexity. Each leaf—both in the filler and the binder—has been carefully selected to create a harmonious and refined smoking experience. The binder, chosen from some of the rarest tobacco varieties, enhances not only the aesthetic appeal but also enriches the cigar’s bouquet of flavors, delivering an experience that stimulates the senses.
Rolled in a Toro size, the Création Liberté offers an estimated smoking time of one hour—an ideal duration for contemplation and relaxation. The Meerapfel Création Liberté is presented in elegant Paulownia-wood chests, each containing two cigars. Reflecting the brand’s dedication to exclusivity, production is strictly limited to 613 sets. Due to overwhelming demand following its press release, the collection is already nearing a complete sellout.
Packed in Belgium, the cigars undergo a rigorous quality control process, ensuring that each piece meets the highest standards. The finishing touches are being carefully applied by artisans at the Meerapfel maison.
