Punch 8-9-8 Edición Regional Asia Pacifico 2018

The Asia-Pacific region has just received its 18th regional edition: the Punch 8-9-8!

The vitola chosen by Pacific Cigar Company, the exclusive distributor of Habanos S.A. in Asia-Pacific, is the Dalias (43 x 170 mm). A vitola that has undoubtedly already won over aficionados in this region of the globe, as it was already used in 2010 for the Por Larrañaga Encantos Edición Regional Asia Pacifico. Emblematic vitolas of Partagás and Cohiba with the 8-9-8 and Siglo V, the Dalias is a new vitola for the Punch brand, which had never produced it before.

At the opposite end of the spectrum from the new "short smoke" trend, this slender format has become relatively rare due to new consumer trends towards shorter, thicker vitolas.

Beyond the name and the vitola, the Punch 8-9-8 also borrows the presentation style of its namesake from Partagás, with one difference. This new Edición Regional Asia Pacifico 2018 is distinguished by the elegance of its packaging, in varnished "898 Boxes". This type of box, with its long sides curved, was originally designed to hold 25 cigars, staggered in three rows: 8, 9 and 8. This style of presentation was introduced and popularised by Partagás with his eponymous cigar.

The smallest 898 boxes contain 10 cigars, 3-4-3. More recently, this style of presentation has been declined, as is the case with the Punch 8-9-8, in boxes of 10 cigars spread over a single tier, while retaining the curved sides of an original 8-9-8 box. Moreover, this new cigar is also simply named "8-9-8".

Since 8 is the lucky number for the Chinese, the production of Punch 8-9-8 is limited to only 8,888 boxes of 10, as has become the case with the "Asia Pacifico" regional editions.
