This exclusive release is dedicated to the markets of Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador, showcasing a bold yet refined vitola that enhances the legacy of the Sancho Panza brand.
Released by Habanos S.A. for sale exclusively in Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador, this 2023 Regional Edition will only be available in limited numbers, arriving in late 2024. It is the eighth Regional Edition for the brand, following a strong tradition of highly successful releases such as the Valientes released for Switzerland in 2017 and Omiros released for Greece and Cyprus in 2020.
The Chan Chan vitola is a Sublimes (54 x 164 mm), making it a commanding presence in any humidor. This size, previously associated with legendary cigars like the Bolívar Libertador and Quai d’Orsay Capitolio Edición Regional France 2018, now makes its debut under the Sancho Panza name. It is also the first vitola from the brand to be presented in a cabinet of 50 cigars, further emphasizing its exclusivity.
Made from the finest Vuelta Abajo tobacco from Pinar del Río, the Chan Chan promises a sophisticated smoking experience, thanks to its exceptional construction and carefully aged tobaccos.
The name "Chan Chan" is a tribute to Cuban music and culture, referencing the famous 1984 composition by Compay Segundo, later immortalized in the legendary Buena Vista Social Club album. The song tells the story of Chan Chan and Juanica, two lovers building a home together, capturing a sense of longing, nostalgia, and resilience—qualities mirrored in this carefully crafted cigar.
From the first draw, the Sancho Panza Chan Chan offers an experience that is both smooth and approachable. The initial flavors reveal fresh coffee, green pepper, and dried fruit, with a well-rounded balance that sets the tone for the rest of the smoke.
