Undercrown cigars

The Undercrown cigar brand from Drew Estate has made a significant mark in the world of premium cigars since its introduction in 2011. Originally conceived as a solution to a unique problem at Drew Estate's factory, the Undercrown line was born from the ingenuity of the company's rollers, or "torcedores." With Liga Privada cigars in high demand and short supply, the rollers were told to cut back on smoking them while they worked. In response, they created their own blend using many of the same rare tobaccos, though from different vintages and primings. This creative endeavor eventually became the Undercrown line, which Drew Estate proudly dedicated to its workers' resourcefulness and passion for cigars.

In 2015, Drew Estate introduced the Undercrown Shade line, a lighter counterpart to the original. This version is wrapped in a silky Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper and includes a Sumatran binder with a filler blend of Dominican Criollo 98 and Nicaraguan Criollo and Corojo tobaccos. The result is a medium-bodied cigar that is lush and smooth, offering flavors that are distinctly refined and approachable. Master Blender Willy Herrera played a key role in developing the Undercrown Shade blend, working closely with the same team of rollers who crafted the original Undercrown. The Shade line quickly gained popularity for its balanced profile and elegant presentation.

An extension of the Undercrown Shade line, the Undercrown Shade Suprema is a limited-edition cigar that takes the core blend and elevates it with a bolder, more intense smoking experience. Measuring 152 mm in length by 54 ring gauge, the Suprema is a beautifully crafted perfecto that offers a more robust flavor profile due to its unique shape. While it shares the same Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and filler blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos as the regular Undercrown Shade cigars, the Suprema’s shape allows for a more concentrated and fuller flavor experience.

Finally, celebrating a decade of success, Drew Estate released Undercrown 10, a special anniversary edition honoring the brand's journey. This bold and flavorful cigar features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper and delivers a rich profile with notes of Mexican hot chocolate, sun-dried cherries, raisins, and cacao, accompanied by a balanced spiciness of black pepper. The Undercrown 10 is a testament to the enduring popularity and craftsmanship that has defined the brand over the years, and it offers a full-bodied yet nuanced tasting experience.
