Tasting evening of the Diageo Group's whiskies
The House of Grauer invites you to a tasting evening of the Diageo Group's whiskies.
Diageo is a global leader in beverage alcohol with an outstanding collection of brands across spirits and beer – a business built on the principles and foundations laid by the giants of the industry.
Diageo currently owns over 200 outstanding brands – old and new, large and small, global and local, with brands sold in 180 countries at almost every price point, in every category to meet consumer demand.
A little overview of the different brands covered during the tasting:
Talisker - Made by the sea.
From rugged coastlines and wild storms to warming rays of sunshine and cloudless skies, the Isle of Skye flows through our veins and invigorates our souls. Unpredictable elements meet unadulterated beauty to create Talisker single malt scotch whisky: a whisky that is as wild, as raw and yet as refined as our island itself.
Lagavulin - Legends take time.
The definitive Islay malt—intensely flavoured, smoky and rich. The windswept Isle of Islay instils a strength of character into everything it produces and its here, nestled in a small bay that our beloved Lagavulin whisky has been made for over 200 years.
Cardhu Whisky
Effortless, elegant, the generous spirit, Cardhu single malt scotch whisky flows like the conversation of excellent company. These smooth, sweet, mellow characters, drawn from the peat-softened waters of the Mannoch Hills, are the essential companion of any vivacious host.
Mortlach - The beast of Dufftown.
Discover the best kept secret in Scotch: Mortlach brings bold flavour to Speyside. In a region generally known for its smoother, gentler style of whisky, Mortlach’s exceptional flavour bridges the gap between mellow and smoky. A 190 year secret amongst whisky epicureans across the globe, Mortlach has been nicknamed 'The Beast of Dufftown' by Dave Broom for its robust, muscular and rich character created from the very unique 2.81 distillation process - a magnificent feat unto itself.
Caol Ila
Pronounced “Cull Eela”. It’s the Gaelic name for the Sound of Islay, which separates the island from Jura. For some, the distillery’s pronunciation is as remote as its location, sitting as it does on the rugged eastern coast, where it has remained hidden from view since 1846. However you say it, the fine, smoky whisky produced by generations of islanders is worth exploring.
