Tasting evening of Château de Fosse-Sèche wines
The House of Grauer invites you to a tasting evening of the wines from Château de Fosse-Sèche wine estate.
Domaine de Fosse-Sèche was in the 13th century a dependency of the Priory Saint-Nicolas de Montreuil-Bellay.
Its 15th century seignorial chapel was remodeled in the 16th century. A dovecote of the same period faces it.
According to the number of putlock holes or cells it contains, formerly representing the land areas of the owner, the estate then covered about 400 hectares.
In 1904 Cabernet d'Anjou was developed for the first time in this vineyard and quickly became a great success.
Today Château de Fosse-Sèche comprises 45 ha in one piece, including 17 ha of vines on a Jurassic soil.
Passionate, two twin brothers and their partners created unique wines grown in organic farming on an exceptional terroir.
A place where respect for fauna and flora is a priority: birds, animals, insects, amphibians and bats have found refuge and have allowed the recovery of an ecosystem.
